All you need to know about organic gardening

All you need to know about organic gardening is this do not add anything to the garden that is not natural. If you can fully embrace this simple concept you have taken the first and most important step towards becoming an organic gardener and to having an organic garden.

The second most important thing you need to know to become an organic gardener is how much time do you have each week to tend the garden. If you have a busy schedule with only 1-2 hours per week to spend in your garden than a small container garden can be the best way to begin. Select 4-6 favourite plants match them with the appropriate size containers, fill them with organic potting soil; place them where they get the sunlight they need, most vegetables need at least six hours of sun per day and be sure they get enough to drink and you have your first organic garden.

It I not the size that matters but how you care for the plants you grow that determines the success of any natural or organic garden.

There are benefits to gardening that go beyond the flowers and vegetables your produce. Gardening is more than growing food or flowers; it is an interaction, a cooperative adventure and an exchange. The end result the tomatoes, roses or basil are much appreciated and enjoyed, but, the gardening activity itself is the primary reason for being out in the garden in the first place.

Begin by buying organic or heirloom seeds. This way you start with the best. The organic grower builds soil and that is not possible when you are staging chemical warfare against pests and plant diseases.

The seed must be planted in organic soil which means soil that has not been treated with artificial fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides, for example. When you are growing for yourself, you do not need to think about being certified organic in order to produce organic plants. As long as you refrain from introducing any artificial or unnatural elements into the garden you are gardening organically.

There is a direct link between the health of the soil we grown our plants in and the health of the plants themselves. Furthermore, if we are eating the plants then there is a direct link between the health of the soil and our health.

Feed the soil and the soil will feed you.  Compost is your good friend and whether you make your own or buy it, make sure the product is organic before buying, if you add compost to the garden bed, in the beginning of the season, at the middle and near the end, the soil will be healthy and the plants thrive.

All you need to know about organic gardening is, if you observe nature, a natural ecosystem, like a forest, for example, and develop your organic garden based upon your observations the garden will produce healthy and vigorous plants.

Take your time in the garden and it will become time very well spent.

Birds brighten any day. Why feed wild birds? If we consider wild birds to be any bird that is not being kept in a cage, then the birds humans feed most often are sea gulls, crows and pigeons. The birds that eat our refuse and I for one would rather not fed them. Feeding The Wild Birds

I have a question, I want to start a garden this year regardless, but what about all the nuclear fall out I'm hearing about with japan and everything,? I listen to Alex Jones, and I know we have to grow our own food, but where, if there is a danger of radiation?

if you are just getting started in growing your own, try container gardening and buy organic potting soil, although I must say I personally am not worried about radiation from Japan at this point and the situation won't stop me from gardning this year.

Your passion for gardening transpires from your pages! I like this phrase " it is an interaction, a cooperative adventure and an exchange".

I would like have a garden, I miss the contact with the soil and the satisfaction to eat something born thanks to my hands.

It is anyway pleasant this read, also if I can not put into practice your tips.
